One Day Mycenae & Epidaurus Tour (Argolis)

Take a journey to Argolis on this 2-day tour and explore the region's rich history. Start your adventure with a drive along the scenic coastal roads of the Saronic Gulf for a visit to Corinth and its awe-inspiring canal, before proceeding to Mycenae, King Agamemnon's ancient city. There you can visit the ruins, including the Lion Gate, as well as Agamemnon's Tomb and Palace. Afterwards, you will depart for Nafplio, the first capital of modern Greece. Before returning to Athens, you will visit the ancient theater of Epidaurus and explore the Theater of Epidaurus, a monument to the arts. The famous 4th century amphitheater known worldwide for its acoustics.

After we pick you up from select spots around Athens, we will drive down the coastal road along the Saronic Gulf, having a stunning view of the sea and traversing beautiful scenery along the way. We will reach the Corinth Canal, which marks our entrance in the Peloponnese, and take a short stop for pictures of the testament of human engineering that is the canal. We'll hit the road once more and before long we'll find ourselves in Mycenae, our first destination for the day. The Bronze Age citadel situated there was the center of one of the most significant city-states of Ancient Greece. As you walk through the complex you will see the Lion's Gate, walk around the Cyclopean Walls, then past the Royal Tomb and Agamemnon's Palace, and with each step you will begin to comprehend why Homer praised the richness of Mycenae.
Once we leave the site we will head for Nafplion, a coastal town beloved by locals for its charming allure, picturesque alleys and iconic waterfront that features a view of the fortress of Bourtzi. The amalgamation of the Hellenic and Venetian influences gives Nafplion a unique flavor that captivates every visitor. After we've enjoyed a traditional lunch, we will visit the famous Theater of Epidaurus! Known the world over for its incredible acoustics, this 4th century amphitheater is a beacon of culture that shines bright till this day, occasionally hosting ancient Greek tragedies and boasting its own annual festival! Fulfilled in every way, we will head back to Athens via the same route and drop you off early in the evening.
